Assistant Accountant

Location: Salford
Salary: £28,000 - £35,000
Expected hours: 35 per week - Hybrid working

In this role, you will take a proactive lead in supporting the preparation of management accounts, including handling accruals, prepayments, and journal entries. You will also be responsible for providing guidance and addressing financial queries from internal stakeholders. This position offers valuable exposure to the budgeting and forecasting processes.

Reporting to the Finance Director, this role is an excellent opportunity for a Part-Qualified Accounts Assistant to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic finance environment. The successful candidate will receive comprehensive training, study support, and a clear progression path to support their professional growth.

Responsibilities:
* Purchase and sales ledger processing and reconciliations.
* Perform bank reconciliations.
* Month-end process completion.
* Responsibility of the weekly cash flow
* Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports
* Reconcile general ledgers accounts to supporting spreadsheet analysis.
* Post journal entries for accrued and prepaid expenses.
* Support the preparation of VAT returns.
* Collaborate with the finance team to streamline processes and improve efficiency.
* Support payroll processing.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:
* AAT qualified/ studying for/fully qualified ACCA or CIMA qualification
* 5+ years of relevant experience.
* Experience with SAGE 200 is advantageous.
* Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
* Strong communication skills
