Administrator - Health & Safety

Location: Birstall, West Yorkshire
Salary: Up to £26k DOE
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (35 hours per week)

Are you passionate about health, safety, and environmental management? Join our HSEQ team as an H&S Administrator and support the wider Team and H&S Manager in delivering excellent service to multiple teams while complying with relevant legislation. This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, proactive, and keen-to-learn individual to develop the skills as a H&S Administrator - no experience required.


Key Responsibilities of the Administrator:

  • Manage the administration function within the HSEQ department, handle employee queries, and support the HSEQ Department where required.
  • Always set a good personal example and promote a positive health and safety culture.
  • Maintain records of any amendments to IMS documentation.
  • Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of company health and safety policies, procedures, risk assessments, and safe working practices.
  • Work with fellow colleagues to maintain and improve customer service to all clients.
  • Communicate with suppliers and subcontractors to keep them up to date with relevant health and safety information, any health and safety requirements, and company information.
  • Maintain records of employee training, identify any future training requirements, and arrange for any external training courses where required.
  • Assist and support Directors, Management, and Supervision in the execution of their IMS Policy duties.
  • Provide support and assistance in relation to Health & Safety Plans, method statements, and other CDM matters.
  • Distribute literature and other materials pertinent to safety, health, and environmental matters.
  • Encourage and review safety suggestions and recommendations from all employees.
  • Research and collate information to assist in performance information, general reporting, and policy updates.
  • Administer computer and database systems, including maintenance of records and preparation of documents for issue.
  • Perform any other duties deemed necessary by the Company and its associated policies.

The Key Requirements of the Administrator:

  • Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Accurate data recording with good attention to detail.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office.
  • Self-motivated and proactive.
  • Able to exercise total discretion with confidential and sensitive information.
  • A keen interest in health, safety, and environmental management.
