Assistant Accountant

Location: Manchester City Centre

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000

Hybrid: One day working from home

Search are working exclusively with a fantastic SME business based in Manchester City Centre. They are expanding their finance team and are looking for a Assistant Accountant to support their growing business.

You will assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports, ensuring that all data is accurate and presented in a clear and comprehensive manner. You will process accounts payable and receivable transactions with great attention to detail, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in every transaction.

Additionally, you will support the preparation of budgets and forecasts, working closely with relevant teams to provide insightful financial projections and the submission of VAT returns. Overseeing the timely and accurate completion of month-end accounts and balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring efficiency and compliance with reporting deadlines. Alongside, reconciling of bank and general ledger accounts. Furthermore, the role includes liaising with both internal and external auditors as required, providing them with the necessary documentation and support to facilitate smooth audits.

Experience

• AAT qualified or ACCA/ACA/CIMA Part Qualified
• Strong knowledge of MS Excel
• Knowledge of SAGE 50 & 200 would be an advantage
• Good understanding of accounting principles and concepts
• Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills
