Search Recruitment Group are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Assistant Management Accountant to join an existing finance team in Shipley. The successful candidate will support the Management Accountant in preparing financial reports, analysing data, and ensuring accurate financial records. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their career in accounting and finance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports, posting journals, accruals and pre-payments
• Support the budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Perform variance analysis and provide insights on financial performance.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records.
• Assist with the preparation of year-end accounts and audits.
• Reconcile balance sheets and ensure all discrepancies are resolved.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of financial controls and procedures.
• Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and provide financial support.
• Assist in the preparation of VAT returns and other tax-related documents.
• Participate in ad-hoc financial projects and analysis as required.

Qualifications:

• AAT studier or looking to study towards AAT
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Prior experience in a similar role is an advantage.
